Teaching Resources by John Whaley from SeniorNet Tauranga

John Whaley from SeniorNet Tauranga has produced a terrific set of teaching resources covering a wide range of topics. To download general infomation on the courses please click here.

  • CD Burning and Ripping – A two session workshop course. Students are supplied with a blank CD-RW which they use to do the exercises. Then they wipe the disk clean and return it to the tutor for re-use. – Click here to download
  • Digital Photogaphy – Students work in teams and individually to take sets of photos to match criteria specified in the manual. Photos are then transferred to a computer. Basic cropping, etc. is included. The manual is designed to direct activity learning and to facilitate student usage of the Handbooks for their cameras. This approach suit the situation where there are as many different cameras as there are students in the class. The manual needs updating to incorporate features of newer cameras. – Click here to download
  • File Mgmt Win7 – A set of exercise files accompanies this course. This manual was original written for Windows Vista. The first three sections have been completely rewritten with new screen shots to demonstrate the usage of Libraries which are new with Win 7. Our File management tutor advised that rewriting the remainder of the book was not necessary as the functions of Vista and Win 7 file management for sections 4 onwards were almost identical. With Windows 8 on the horizon, I was content to accept his opinion. – Click here to download
  • Internet Explorer 8Click here to download
  • Internet Explorer 9Click here to download
