About / Bio
SeniorNet Glenfield has the aim of bringing older adults and modern computers together in a friendly, fun and stress-free way, at a pace suitable for our age group.

We welcome people who would like to learn more about computers and what they can do: word-processors, spread sheets, databases, digital cameras, image editing, genealogy, tablet computers and smartphones through to Skyping or emailing the grandchildren and surfing the World Wide Web. We can help you catch up, and perhaps overtake other members of the family.

Many of our enquiries for membership are coming from people who have a work back ground in computers but would like to spread their wings. Our Courses and workshops are evolving to meet these requests. Courses in Windows 10 are looking to keep up to date with the applications at your level. There is reduced call for Microsoft Office (e.g. MS Word and MS Excel) and Free Office (e.g Libre) applications these days, but they are all still available. Our repertoire of one-off Workshops has a wide selection of computer based technologies.

Special interest groups (SIG) within SeniorNet Glenfield cover several skill levels. We have SIGs for exploring photo editing and working with iPads.

The SIG for image editing at the Centre uses the application Affinity Photo by Serif. This is a recent addition to the photography world that is rivalling PhotoShop in many areas.

If you purchase or get given a new or pre-loved laptop, get in touch, we can make it even better.

SeniorNet Glenfield is a well resourced Learning Centre in the heart of Glenfield on the North Shore and is run by a volunteer management team and tutors who organize all aspects of our Centre. Courses and Workshops are free to all financial members and membership is only $30 for 12 months.
